Hello my friends, yesterday (2014/06/14) was a special day in my life. The match between Cotê D'ivoire and Japan provided me moments I were dreaming since Brazil was announced as 2014 World Cup host in 2007.

I'll try to describe in this post all my experience since taking the bus to the Pernambuco Arena until my return to the place where I have taken this transportation.

I've arrived at Praça do Derby a central place in Recife around 7pm to get the BRT, transportation which takes you to the stadium and brings you back to Praça do Debry. It costs R$ 5,00 and will work in all games here in Recife. At the bus station the party had already started, people from Japan, Brazilians, a Canadian and a Australian were there. There I found a pernambucana (who was born in Pernambuco the state where Recife is located) wearing a "cangaceira" clothing. The bus I've taken was crowded but it was not a problem, people were quiet and some were listening on the radio and commenting the game between England and Italia. The road to Arena pass through Recife and Camaragibe to arrive in São Lourenço da Mata. We've dropped from the bus 600 meters far from the stadium and walked until there.

There I've realized the real magnitude of the World Cup, people from the whole world, many Japanese supporters, one funnier than the other. They were wearing since the national team shirt until as Freeza (Dragon Ball Z character). Here I've also seen the only bad thing from yesterday, the disorganization to get in the Fifa Area(we have to pass through a Metal detector, and after this there is an area surrounding the stadium with many promoting places), the queues weren't organized, people were skipping it and no one in the organization were trying to organize it. I've taken almost an hour to get in there. I didn't spend many time there, I entered in the arena as soon as I could, only there they ask for the ticket, there weren't queues. It was very calm to enter.

I went to my seat, but people weren't doing the same, the seats were kind of empty at 9pm when I arrived in my place. They were chatting, buyng food, beverages. As the matching was getting closer things were becoming more exciting, the teams entered in the field to warm up, People in the stadium were supporting more Japan than Côte D'ivoire, many: "Nippon, Nippon, Nippon" were heard since the warm up of the teams. At the end of the warm up the supporters from Côte D'ivoire have arrived and started to make the noise they are famous. They didn't stop one second during the 90 minutes of the game. It was amazing, they were really few people if compared to Japanese, but they were the real responsible from the animation of the stadium. Sometimes Japanese supporters tried to do the same, but they couldn't.

Talking about the game specifically, Côte D'ivoire had the possession of the ball during the first time, but they were missing passes, and marking really bad, Honda was free and when he had the opportunity he was always taking danger to Côte D'ivoire deffense. At the second time, Côte D'ivoire was marking better and also started to pass the ball better. When Drogba entered the field something has really changed. It seemed that Côte D'ivoire felt his presence and started to involve Japan, with two crossing from the right they scored twice.

After the game all but Japanese, of course, were celebrating, I went to where Côte D'ivoire supporters were and saw they beautiful way to cheer for their national team.

In the way back to the bus station it was raining a lot, but it was not a problem for the fans who went to the game yesterday. It was a amazing experience. In the travel back to Praça do Derby even the Japanese were talkative exchanging experience with some Brazilian, some guys from Morocco were singing songs from Côte D'ivoire and others were almost sleeping because it was almost 1am already.

I wish I can enjoy all the other games I am going to this World Cup, I am feeling very lucky to have this opportunity. If you have the opportunity to be in a World Cup match go. It's worth!
